Friends of the Lexington Public Library Online Sales
The Friends of the Lexington Public Library presently operates two online stores for the sale of unique, hard-to-find, and valuable items. Our eBay store was established in 2002, and our Amazon store was established in 2008. Due to renewed appreciation for our online operations by our staff, we have increased our online presence in recent years.
Combined, our online sales operations offer thousands of items for sale, and our online inventory is constantly updating. Thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers and staff members, items are listed online efficiently and shipped to customers quickly. We boast a 99.5% positive feedback rate on eBay and a 4.9-star rating on Amazon, so our thousands of satisfied customers speak for themselves.

Online Sales FAQs
Why do you do this? Some people don’t buy online, why not just have the items in your store?
Simply put, selling books online allows us to better support the library! A majority of what we sell online are niche items, and we are able to find a relevant audience quicker online than having the items sit in our store. By selling items online, we can find them an appreciative audience quicker, allowing us to further support the library with higher-value items.
How often do you list items online?
All the time! New items are added to our online stores every week. We have a large backlog of donated items waiting to be listed online and a small team of dedicated volunteers who list items multiple times a week. Additionally, when not busy, our staff members are also responsible for listing items online.
I want to pick my item up from you instead of having it shipped! Can I do this?
This primarily applies to eBay, as eBay makes this easier to do. If you haven’t bought the item yet, give us a call, and we will reserve the item for you and remove it from active listing. If you have already purchased the item, send us a message to let us know you want to pick the item up. We’ll refund the shipping cost.
I want a refund for the item that I purchased. Can I have one?
We always hate to see someone needing a refund, but we understand that it happens. Before requesting a refund, please send us a message to see if we can work something out first. For all reasons except for the item not arriving, you’ll have to send the item back to us for us to issue your refund.
